Visa for visiting New Zealand

Requirements for International Visitors entering New Zealand

All overseas visitors are required to have a valid passport and the appropriate visa, with the exception of delegates from visa-waiver countries. Typically this could either be a Visitor Visa or an Academic Visitor Visa.

We recommend that you allow for a minimum of 10 weeks to have your visa processed by Immigration New Zealand or the applicable New Zealand embassy/consulate in your country of residence.

***There have been some recent changes to NZ travel rules; all visitors from visa-waiver countries must obtain an NZeTA before travelling*** This is a simple process and costs NZ$9-NZ$12

Letters of Invitation

If you require a Letter of Invitation in order to secure a Visitor Visa or Academic Visitor Visa, please email Dr Ivanhoe Leung with your registration details (including payment information). The letter will be sent to you by email in PDF format within 5 working days after your request. Registration fees must be paid before the invitation can be issued.
